Hamstring Strain / Tightness
Huntington Beach, Orange County CA
A hamstring strain can be very tough to treat if not treated correctly. This video should help reveal some ideas for effective therapy for a hamstring strain / pulls.
Typically a hamstring strain can happen with or without trauma. With a hamstring strain many times it happens with overuse, over-training, over-striding and more. Although a hamstring strain can happen with sprinting it is far more common to feel very mild tightness with the overuse mechanism.
Symptoms associated with a hamstring strain are: tightness with extending the leg, increased pain or tightness with running at faster rates, and soreness in region far beyond normal time needed from a recovery from workout. Symptoms of a hamstring strain are not limited to these few sensations but keep in mind as the hamstring strain becomes more serious, such as a grade 2 tear, things may change.
How to resolve a hamstring strain?
Good question. I have seen a hamstring strain managed effectively and other no so much… there is a huge difference in the way it is treated early on. If you have a hamstring strain have it looked at ASAP because there are many exercises you could be doing to accelerate healing.
